Year of the Sassy yet Observant student

I post this picture as a tribute to the sassy that is you, Miss. A.  Yes, that is the boy solider in the back ground from The Walking Dead.  That is a bloody wound on his chest from a crazy farmer shooting him whilst out hunting the zombies.  Zombies are fo realz  - you will be super thankful someday when they plague the planet and yo dad and I are completely prepared.

Back to "the Sassy".  I wrote to Mrs. Heath yesterday to share the wonderful stories that are being shared at our dinner table.  Here is the email and the response:

I have to share with you some of the lovely conversations from our dinner table.  Yesterday Nathan and I asked Ava what she was learning in school.  Her reply:

"Ahh it's crazy.  I'm the only one that knows EVERYTHING.  I even know what my teacher is thinking."

Ms. Margerum is great.  Ava is happy and I would say just a bit confident.

Tonight Ellie leaned on her elbows and said,

"I've been assigned all of the teachers for my subjects now.  My teachers are..............(during this silence I was expecting her to convey the difficulty of 5th grade)....................so nice.  Mr. Collins is really good at eye contact."

I was not expecting eye contact to be the trait that makes such a large impact on Ellie.  Mrs. Griego is such a perfect fit for her!

Thanks for all that you do!

Jennifer Wenzel-Babbitt

Hi Jennifer,

This made my day! Thank you for sharing the "school thoughts" of Ava and Ellie! How darling and precious!

They are amazing little girls and we SO enjoy them! Smiling face with open mouth

Hope to see you soon,

A couple of days ago, Miss.A, you were home from school as a result of feeling kind of poopy.  I think mayhaps it was the 4 molars and 2 front teeth making their entrance.

Dad was able to kick out of work a wee bit early and the three of us sat on the floor for a game of Uno.  I whispered to Tu'Padre that you might not be the best sport.  Not 5 turns in (and let me say that during those five turns you gave me 2 draw4.  TWO! and you giggled your ass off)  So, the fifth turn and your dad laid down a draw4 for you and you look at us, threw your cards down, and ran to the other room.  We didn't see you again for an hour.  Dad asked you later that night if you wanted to play Uno again and you quietly said, "no".

You are the worst sport playa. The worst.  Thank you muy much for making me laugh until I couldn't breathe.

Meet the Teacher, Haircuts, and the 1st day of School

So, we went to meet the teacher and afterwards headed over to Tia Rosas for take-out.  As soon as we walked in you, A, and your friend Seneca ran for each other and squealed in delight.

The next day we went for haircuts/styling and everyone was super excited.  Ava, you wanted your hair "big", like pageant big.  It twas.  E, you wanted it curly.  The curly last for the evening and we had to straighten it in the morning.  (this only caused drama like the world was over) Paige, you wanted yours straightened.

Did I mention that as dad and I were sitting on the couch waiting for everyone to make their way outside you, A, walked out with your bangs bright pink?  You were super excited and told us that Ellie did it and she was going to do the rest of your hair in a sec.  Ahhh.  Dad kind of put his foot down on it.

Carter, you have been the last one out to the car the last 3 days.  What the what?  Get it together dude.

Ava tooted just before the pic - hence your face E.

Paige Part Dos

Carl's Birthday - Paige the Dancer

My ladies

We hung in a photo booth after the movies the other day.

Three Girls May live in this house

This is what I came home to on Thursday.  Fairly loud music was coming out of the radio.

Science Museum with Tu' Padre

I'm not going to say anything else.

Love you Ellie.  You  are are a wizzard at swimming.

I dislike Cats and you are having none of that ----Ellie

So I was peeking through my phone and found that you had made this, E.  It is me and it is you whispering for me.

"I like Kittens.  I like Kittens.  Kittens, Kittens, Kittens."

Not kidding.  This might be one of the funniest things ever E.

Pre-School Shoe Shopping

I took you three ladies to Last Chance the other day and we stopped at Zupas.  (as a side note: Kim and I had dinner with a friend the other night and she told Auntie Kim that she had never been to Last Chance.  Kim cried.  She literally cried.  I still can't stop laughing.)

This is what you do with your sisters whilst babysitting.  Yes, that is a fake pipe with a sombrero and a glass of milk.  Classy
