A bit of a Road Trip

Okay, the Captain just returned from a trip to Colonial LeBaron.  He was there to assist Jason retrieve some doors.

Cool experience.  They were stuck at the border with trailer problems when lo and behold The Cap spots two young men (his age).
"They look experienced with trailer crossing - let's approach them." he thinks.
So he goes and asks them some questions.  They say that they are from C LeBaron.  Cap is like - uh oh - is someone going to take me out?  Then they tell him their last name is LeBaron.  Holy beep beep.
Cap says, "as in the infamous LeBarons. You know Verlen, Joel, and Ervil?"
They let him know they are Verlens kids.  Their mom is Irene.  He tells them he just finished her book.  They pick up their cell, call her, and put the Cap on the phone.
She is super nice and told her boys to take care of him. (and I don't mean Sopranos "take care of him")
They finally made it across the border and into his parents old stomping ground.  He saw his parents old house.  he saw his dad's old windmill.  The men there said that they would find out who it currently belongs to.  They will take it down for the Cap to come back and pick it up.  How sweet are they?
Oh, Captaino I must say it seems so unreal.   Good for you visiting crazy town.  Turns out the current townies are super nice, kind, and giving!!!!

Learning how to Share in the Bare

Okay, This is the last picture of the sharing experiment. Number 4, notice how you are FINALLY smiling? (hey nbr 1. Notice how you try to get in the background of EVERY picture? Notice the wife beater - again. You are a bit obsessed with this little white tank. When you are a big man - ditch the little white shirt. Thanks - Mom)
"Please - I happy."
This is part of your conversation with the group when they really were trying to share their popsicles with you.

Notice how daddy is pinning your arms to your side? Gee, I wonder why - little naked lady. Could it be ..........that you were like animal from the muppets?
You were slightly in the picture here. You were running so fast to get away from #1 that you can get a brief glimpse of the popsicle.
Wow - that face is sooooo sad. You were making your lips quiver. ON COMMAND. Now - that is talent!!

A bit oh Hair cutting.

Oh young lady.  We had to fix the "haircut" you gave yourself.  I hope you look back on this picture when you are a big lady and remember that you thought that your bangs were not short enough after I fixed them.  ( just as a side note #3 this last picture here looks like Auntie Kimmy to me.  Who knew she would have one that looks like me and you all of the sudden look like her. Minus the short bang and all)

Holy Toad

At First trying to finesse the little man out of the pot and into the "house"?  You have got to be kidding me.

This scene spanned 1 hour.  Who knew that a little toad man could take up so much time?

Well wishes from the siblings who really just want her cake
Number 2 created a perfect present from a cereal box and packaged up some odd items from the toy closet.
A little cake in the mouth, a little cake on the face, a little shove to get Elle away from your plate.  Nice work

Another One Bites the Dust

The Outing

We went out with Miss.  Sue and some of her kids on her new boat today.  It was such a great time.  Turns out the Captain is quite the skier.  He just kept popping up on the board, using one hand, and gliding over the wakes.  It was so much fun to watch.
Then toward the end of the day we put all three of the older kids and Miss. Sue's youngest three kids on this big tube like thing and took them for a ride.  Okay, Number 3 the look on your face was hilarious.  I hope I can post some of the pic of the event later.  It looked like you were sad and happy at the same time.  Possibly crying and laughing at the same time.  Then you would hit a large wake and I could see you screaming- in a good/terrified way.  I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt.
Good times.

oh, Thank heavens

As you turn 2 this week, little one;  I think back to two years ago.  You were always sooooo cute and cuddly.  Check out the pic;  you had to sleep on my belly/chest EVERY night.  Look at how pale mommy's face is; that is called love.
You have gotten so big; why today you said de nada to me when I said gracias.  You are extremely fascinated with horses and monkeys.   You potty trained yourself a month ago; sorry if your gigantic brain is moving at such high warp speeds and mommy can't always keep up.  Since I am a genius I can empathize with you.
You want keys whenever you see them or hear them.  Above all you love Ellie and your baby and bassinet.
Carter still gets you out of bed every morning.  It is fun to listen on the intercom as you two greet eachother everyday.  Your brother is so amazing with you.  He comes in and talks to you in such a kind little voice asking you if you are ready for the day.
Have a Great Birthday WEEK!!!

Dear Little Ladies

Little ones whom I birthed.  We have a small problem.  Your hair poop.  Don't get your knickers in a bunch; I am here for you.  As it looks like you can not distinguish between nice hair and poopy hair I can be of assistance.  When I lovingly tell you that you may wish to brush your hair before leaving the house ----Please listen.  You know I am not one for appearances!! But I must say when your hair looks like you haven't bathed in a couple of weeks and that there may be small critters hiding in your manes ------Listen to your Mama.

Love you lots!!! Brush Brush Brush

You have got to be Kidding me....Buffalo???

What the Freak?  Buffalo

Oh, we also ran into some pigs.   Because you know we tend to run into pigs here on a regular basis.  Number 4 is a little fascinated with animals  - she doesn't discriminate - any animal will do.  She calls them her buddies.  This was cute until the ...........BUFFALO tried to charge her.  She didn't understand boundaries and all.
Then we took a little stroll through the back orchard.  Turns out the weeds are a bit prickly currently and our kids are wimps.   Since NO ONE ever takes pictures of me I decided to do something about it.  Yo - here it is - Catch a glimpse of the Captain behind me (check out those pearly whites  - yum yum)
Okay I just posted this and had to go back in and say "HOLY CRAP those glasses look gigantic on my little ol' face)

First Day of Great Weather

Doesn't this look a little like Laverne and Shirley---oh I know, it is from the movie The Long Journey Home.  You know when the cat and dogs or whatever animals left and chased after their humans that were only leaving for like 7 days to visit beautiful Colorado Springs or something and couldn't stand to be apart for those 7 days and did the unthinkable - they followed their scent all the way to them. (run on sentence)  I really disliked that movie as a kid.  I also couldn't stand Where the Red Fern Grows.  What adults make kids watch these movies.  Make it STOP.
Anyway, notice the jumping and joy in finding peppers in what used to be "the garden".  We now send them out to "the jungle"

Baby with the Babies

We couldn't locate number 4 yesterday.  We found her in the toy room with every doll from her basket piled on her lap.  Notice the glittery cat in there also - this is a Halloween decoration from the front door.

Big Mac Currency

Last night we went out to dinner for the Captains' birthday.  We were with the Haymores and the Clancy-Earls at our usual spot - El Pepin.  Of course, since we are in the presence of Brilliance (Ehren Haymore), the topic turns to the economy.

Since he is the master of analogies I should not have been shocked to have it dumbed down in terms of Big Macs.  It was quite lovely.  I am always able to absorb the knowledge he (master knowledge giver) is willing to giveth when he puts it in simple terms.

I don't know if you have heard or not, but the economy is having some troubles.  The conversation went as follows: (KG=knowledge giver)

Me " so, what products or things do well when times are tough?"
KG "tobacco"
Captain"tobacco is always good to trade in jail"
(everyone stares at the Captain with curiousity)
KG "Think of it this way.  There are McDonalds all over the world.  In the United States it takes
2BigMacs =1 pack of cigarettes
In most other parts of the world
1BigMac=2 packs of cigarettes"

Honestly, I don't remember where the conversation went from here.  All I could think at this point was
(Interesting,  how many BigMacs does it take to buy Anthropologie in China.  AND How many BigMacs will someone give me for my Old Land Cruiser in say Mexico)

There were MANY analogies that were fabulous last night.  Thank you Knowledge Giver.  I did learn "Listen to the Quiet Ones" among many other things.  Can't wait to see what the next year brings.  Thank goodness we know you and can pick your large brain; it really puts us (the Captain and me) at ease.

Thank you thank you thank you

Birthday Captain

Dear Captain

This is your birthday Week!! I am writing to wish you the best this year. You are looking so radiant. I mean this. When we met you looked like a pup - now you are a man. Although we don't look 14 anymore; I daresay you don't look over 27. You age so well!! (do you like how I said we. hehe I am a bit of a narcissist)

This is such a big week for you. Getting your braces off and all - good for you! Maybe we can ear cone as a treat!

I hope you have another fabulous year. You are an amazing dad, husband, and businessman. Stay cool!

Your First Wife

Dear #3

Last night you told me 2 of your requests to Santa.

1. You would like to be rich
2. You would like your own room

Both of which you asked for with a big grin. You are so funny!!!
